RCR Stelform History

RCR Stelform commenced

operation in 1986.

In 2004 RCR Tomlinson Ltd, a Western Australian based publicly listed company, purchased the shares of all Stelform companies.

Up to this point, RCR Stelform was a privately owned Engineering business. It commenced operation in April 1986, as part of Tubemakers of Australia Limited, Construction & Services Division. For 50 years Tubemakers had conducted an Engineering Contracting Business whose main business was to design, supply, fabricate and erect high pressure pipework systems together with the building of boiler pressure parts.

In late 1986 Tubemakers ceased trading of the Construction & Services Division due to reduced business opportunities. Recognising Stelform's potential in maintaining a role as a pressure equipment fabricator, the business was offered to the Stelform management and employees on a buy-out basis.

The offer was accepted in December 1986, and by February 1988 RCR Stelform was a fully owned private business.

Many years have passed, and we are proud to have carried forward the long standing service to our clients in Australia and neighbouring countries. Stelform has developed its services and facilities to become one of Australia's major suppliers of pressure equipment.

Over the years RCR Stelform has enjoyed a steady growth in sales, profit and number of employees. The profits have been reinvested into the organisation, ensuring business growth, improvements in plant and equipment, technology and training.

RCR Tomlinson Ltd is a well established heavy engineering company servicing the resource industries of Australia, as well as being the major supplier of Package Boilers throughout Australia and its neighbouring countries.

In 2006, RCR Tomlinson acquired the VRBT Group, which was merged with the RCR Stelform Services division, to form RCR Stelform VRBT Pty Ltd. Valves Refineries Boilers and Turbines (VRBT) was established by vendors Mark Benson and Tony Murray in 1990 and has grown steadily since that time, employing 30 permanent staff.

The amalgamation of the businesses will present greater business opportunities by continuing the skills and resources of both companies to expand our market presence.
